Dari seri A samsung mengeluarkan varian baru di tahun 2017 yaitu samsung galaxy a5 2017 dengan mengusung jaringan 4g lte yang sudah banyak dipakai di Indonesia. Dapur pacu menggunakan prosesor buatan samsung yaitu Exynos 7880 menggunakan sistem operasi android terbaru yaitu marshmallow 6.0. Smartphone android ini dirilis pada awal tahun 2017 ini pada bulan januari.
Layar yang mengusung super amoled dengan resolusi 1080 x 1920 pixels dan tingkat kerapatan layar sebesar 424 ppi pixel membuat layar lebih jernih dibanding dengan samsung galaxy A7 yang memiliki DPI sebesar 38 ppi. Spesifikasi lengkapnya bisa dilihat di bawah ini yang dilansir dari gsmarena.
